KM Tools such as Evernote and Wikipad

Haven't tried Evernote (yet), but am currently using, and like, Wikipad. (See, also, jhorman.org/wikidPad/ [jhorman.org/wikidPad/]) Wikipad doesn't have as many features as some other tools (notably: InfoSelect & Zoot) but (1) it is extensible (written in Python), (2) is Open Source (wikidpad.python-hosting.com [wikidpad.python-hosting.com]), and (3) has an active Yahoo Group supporting it (groups.yahoo.com/group/wikidPad/ [groups.yahoo.com/group/wikidPad/]). Comments?

Thanks for the tip, Cap'n, I'll have to check Wikipad out.

I really enjoy Evernote. An especially positive aspect of the program is the attention to service evidenced in the user forum. I think that shows that EN will be evolving into a very powerful program.

For some good tips on how to use Evernote, I suggest checking out this site:

gtdwannabe.blogspot.com [gtdwannabe.blogspot.com]

The site is also a goldmine for tips on GTD and Outlook, among other themes.

I just stumbled on this site, seems to be the same as what you guys are talking about. I haven't used it tho.

Here's another similar (I think) sort of an application:

tiddlywiki.com [tiddlywiki.com]

I used it for a while last year until I got distracted. Very useful!

Add: Just checked out Evernote, and was disappointed to find it's not available for Mac.

4: They're working on a Mac as well as a Linux version. A new version (Windows) is soon due out which will allow it to be installed on USB sticks.

Here's a detailed article about someone's experiences with various programs for GTD, including most of the ones mentioned here:

I'm currently trying out MyLife Organized for managing my Next Actions. I'll post my opinion of it once I'm done evaluating it, but so far it looks pretty good.
